CMIA Graduates SSS3 Students

cultural-day-at-cmia-newThe Graduation Ceremony/Valedictory Service for the SSS3 Students of Creative Minds International Academy, for the 2015 Academic Session was held on Sunday, July 26, 2015, amid great fanfare and excitement. The Graduating students, well dressed in the traditional Blue Graduating Gowns where ushered into the Hall by the Principal, Mr. Oladipo Stephen Fasetire.

The ceremony was witnessed by Parents, member of the School’s PTA. The Hall was full to capacity with several other guests even having to stand outside. The parents thanked the school for organizing the events. After the valedictory service a little dinner was organized for the graduating student

CMIA Joins Peace One Day

cultural-day-at-cmiaCreative Minds International Academy (CMIA) has joined the Peace One Day Education Network. The Peace One Day Education aims to inspire young people to become the driving force behind the vision of a united and sustainable world by advancing active learning in the areas of reconciliation, intercultural cooperation, and global citizenship – using Peace Day 21 September as its focus.

Over 5000 schools in 131 countries currently make up our Schools’ Network. This is the hub of Peace One Day’s educational initiative and it provides a platform to bring schools,  classrooms and pupils together, as well as providing pupils and teachers with year round peace education resources and fun, practical ideas for Peace Day activities.

Peace One Day’s objective is to institutionalise Peace Day 21 September. Throughout the years, millions of people have been active on Peace Day in every country of the world, and hundreds of organisations have carried out life-saving activities in areas of conflict. Peace One Day’s Campaigns and activities in Education, Music, Film, Sport, Dance, Art and Online have proved that the day works.

CMIA celebrates Intercultural Day

cultural-day-at-cmia2The 2014 Intercultural Day of Creative Minds International Academy was celebrated on December 5, 2014 at the school’s Assemble hall in Jos Nigeria. The programme which was under the theme “The Role of Culture and Tourism in Peacebuilding” sought to empower participants on how culture and tourism can be used a tool for promoting sustainable peace and national development.

The CMIA Intercultural Day brings together representatives from the Ministry of Education, Educators and Teachers from invited Colleges and Schools in Jos, Religious Leaders, Traditional Leaders, Community Leaders among others.

This year, the programmes focuses on activities such as paper presentations, varieties of traditional meals, fashion shows, cultural dances, entertainments, prizes, among others.

Founded in September 2007, Creative Minds International Academy is a Jos, Nigeria-based model coeducational school empowering students with tools for critical thinking to investigate information and inter-connectedness of all life, and then make wise decisions for sustainable relationships with each other and with Earth herself.

The school which is registered with the Nigeria Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) and fully approved by the Plateau State Ministry of Education (MOE), and also accredited by the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) and the National Examinations Council (NECO) operates Nursery, Primary, Junior Secondary and Senior Secondary academic programmes and have produced a lot of ‘creative minds’ over the past few year.
